Run Free Popoy.
July 30, 2013 - February 26, 2022
It was a painful Saturday for all of us.
Though we already expected it,
It still aches deeply.
Popoy is not our first dog but he was the longest who stayed with the family. From a tiny pup who arrived home on my mother's birthday to a big dog who never failed to protect our home.
I still remember how I kept him to sleep beside me when he was just a baby, watched him drink milk and how joyful we are with his presence in our family.
He grew up super "bait". He always wait for my mom to give him pandesal every morning. He never baited into a fight whenever we have new dogs. He mourned when pipay (another dog we had) died. He was so protective with koomi (our recent adopted dog). He well behaved when I took him for a bath. He allows stray cats to enter our front yard and shares his food. He welcomes visitor with barks and wiggling tails and nothing else. He loves my nephew and nieces. He loves to observe and to listen.
Most of all, Popoy NEVER forgotten me after 3 years of being abroad. He welcome me back warmly and excitedly.
We knew that a pet's lifespan is shorter and our popoy is old already. We knew its time but our beloved poi keeps on fighting. For past days we fought with him but going on, we can't even bare to see him struggling. It's too much. Though it hurts, we finally got the courage to tell him "kung di mo na kaya sige na bitaw ka na para di ka na mahirapan. mahal ka namin" and just few hours after that he left us.
I was the first to see him gone.
Our home is grieving.
Thank you for the 8 years of being part of our family our forever fur baby! We don't deserve you. We're really sorry.
Run free! Mahal na mahal ka namin.
