Beyond My Color Palette: Orange Shift
From my usual earthy tones, I decided to step out of my color palette and try something bright and bold. Though I'm not typically drawn to vivid colors, I felt an urge to experiment. I have a long dress that I once wore for a wedding and my birthday but haven't used since. It's among many clothes that have been sitting unused in my closet, far from the basics or my usual style. I didn’t want them to stay forgotten, so I decided to mix and match items to give them new life. The dress was transformed into two item by cutting it into a top and a long skirt. I found a peplum tube top that surprisingly matches the now orange long skirt perfectly.
To add a personal touch, I crocheted a bandana in a brick orange color. While bandanas may still surprise some, they’re actually a thing now and with my new venture into crocheted items, it’s the perfect way to showcase my work through my outfits.
I found a pair of canvas shoes at home and decided to wear them to complete the look. I also grabbed a random tote bag (which is my bag to go. I am a tote bag girly since forever just so you know.)
Experimenting with your outfits can be really fun. It doesn’t compromise your usual style; it just adds a fresh twist while still reflecting your vibe. It’s all about how you present yourself and carry that confidence. While I usually prefer clean and basic looks, stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things can be a great way to refresh your style.
